After the leading Kemalist figure Prof. Erol Manisali demanded, Turkey’s immediate recognition of, and cooperation with, Bashar al Assad, Kemal Kilicdaroglu, Turkey’s main opposition party leader, organized an international conference to call Turkish government to establish a direct link with Syria. ’ Assad and Kilicdaroglu have an important point in common: Assad is Alawi and Kilicdaroglu is Alevi. Both branches of Shiite Islam are very close to one another. According to various sources, both men belong to the Qizilbash historical secret organization.
