Dear friends, what a year...! Although full of fear and restrictions, it was still a chance for us to grow and learn from our mistakes. Those hard times are leading us to a time of rebirth, the beginning of a new cycle. At the end of this year, we will focus on this worldwide change bringing new ideas, new medicine, new realities and surprises in life. Let’s see the next year as the year of changes, filled with personal evolution and creativity. Now’s the time to change our way of life and free ourselves from our fears, focusing on our own inner shining light. This is a time of cleansing and we take this opportunity to wish for you to achieve much in your new life, to get lucky and find richness. This year has had a dramatic impact on culture and arts, and despite our strong bond through music and thoughts, we really miss playing live and being on the road. We are looking forward to getting back on tour, meeting each and everyone of you, creating this bond so precious to us. We can’t move forward in our lives and our career without it. “A green earth for eternity, a new world, a new sun.” In SKÁLD, we believe in changes, in cycles, like the ancient tribes. Everything with a beginning will eventually have an ending and 2020 won’t make any exception. It’s a sacred time where the big wheel of yearly cycles is starting its magical changeover. The Sun and its light will come back, reborn. And what better way to celebrate its return than Yule. A time of happiness, where we want to forget what happened only to enjoy the company of our loved ones, the things we hold dear. A heartfelt moment, deep in the cold winter, to think about tomorrow rather than yesterday. And this has been the case for ages as Yule or Christmas, also named Jól, which seems to be related to the word hjól (wheel), was in old germanic traditions a celebration where the people and the gods would come together to feast, sing and share stories. There’s a lot of legends around the end of the year celebrations in Norse mythology, don’t hesitate to comment about your favorite down below!
