Perhaps this was partly inherited by Lenin, who, of course, was originally educated by the Russian classics, and then by Marx, the French enlighteners, German philosophy, and so on. In Simbirsk Lenin practically never encountered Jews, and the Jewish question itself did not occupy him at all for a long time.
