Budget mountain bike or Baller mountain bike? We put the $9,800 Specialized S-Works Stumpjumper up against the $3,400 Stumpjumper Alloy Comp. For months, these bikes Were submitted to long rides in a variety of conditions. Both bikes tested were size S4 with the S-Works Stumpjumper coming in at 26 pounds 13 ounces () without pedals, and the Alloy Comp Stumpjupmer was 33 pounds 1 ounce (15kg).

Does the $3,400 bike with limited suspension tunability and SRAM NX drivetrain handle the abuse?
