So Much Going On With This Drummer Left Hand

Here I`m doing a drum solo on my classic Slingerland amazing snare drum is the Slingerland 1976 Buddy Rich TDR model inch snare drum. This has the rare straight edge hoops which are so great for rim shots. I have worked on my left hand technique for years so I can play whatever I`m thinking. Most important as you can see, I`m very relaxed and never tense up. I want a good flow to the solo and using lots of accents to make it musical. I have learned from drummers like Buddy Rich, Joe Morello, and Louie Bellson on how to get my left hand to be smooth and work around the drums to make my solo exciting. As the leader of my own Ken Loomer Big Band, having a good left hand is so important in how I play to drive the Big Band. Here is one video you can check out what I mean on the use of my left hand playing and driving a Big Band Here is another example of me with my Big Band using my left hand in many ways to support the music and during my solo Left hand, which is the weaker hand, must be worked on when doing this type of drumming.
