US turns to Chad for closer ties as Mali, Niger & Burkina become hostile

The United States, through a Joe Biden deployed delegation that travelled to Chad on March 30th 2024, has lauded the Chadian transitional President, General Mahamat Idriss Deby, for getting everything set, for a return of his country to a constitutional order, following three years of his military rule, as the country prepares for the May 6th Presidential elections. Led by the New Jersey senator, Cory Anthony Booker, the American delegation met the 39 year old Chadian leader at the presidential palace in Ndjamena on that Saturday, and after a two hour engagement, the Americans couldn’t hide their confidence that Chad was their reliable partner in the Sahel region, at this time when countries like Niger, Mali and Bukinafaso are showing resentment to western countries.
