New British Ambassador To Israel (1949)

Unused / unissued footage - dates and locations may be unknown or unclear. British Ambassador to Israel, Mr Alexander Knox Helm, presents his credentials to President Weizman - Tel Aviv, Israel. M/S of President Weizman’s car, followed by two others, taking Mr Helm to Hairya. Helm gets out of car, stands to attention, then inspects Guard of Honour. Troops present arms. C/U of front of the President’s car showing the President’s ensign Israeli number plate. Helm re-entering car after ceremony. Interior shot as Helm enters Presidential house, walks up to President Weizman, shakes hands and begins reading his credentials. C/U of officials listening. Helm hands credentials to Weizman. The Israeli President, Chaim Weizman, replies and they shake hands again. Weizman and Helm sit together, having refreshment after the ceremony.
