Warhammer 40k - Darktide & Mechanicus Soundtrack from Jesper Kyd & Guillaume David

I’ve been a fan of Jesper Kyd ever since the Hitman 47 Soundtrack and now 23 years later he’s still blessing us with his music. This is a compilation from the much beloved Soundtracks of Warhammer: Darktide made by Jesper Kyd and Warhammer: Mechanicus from Guillaume David. My other Warhammer 40k clips can be found here - Official Soundtrack - - 58:42 It seems most (if not all?) versions of Path of Trust on YouTube and Spotify have this crackle. Just before uploading this mix I replayed it again and I finally noticed it. I could not find a clean version anywhere. I’m not an audio expert and I have no knowledge on how to restore something like this. Finally I used the de-clicker in Audacity and this seemed to have removed it somewhat. Though strictly by chance or luck. ___________ Music is extremely personal, and something which I may enjoy could very well be disliked by someone else. Perhaps even more so when you start touching music which is so near and dear to so many people. This makes it difficult, at least for me, to find a middle ground which hopefully everyone, or most people, veterans and newcomers alike, might find accommodating and not disruptive. In this version I opted to remove the more ambient tracks even though viewers in the past have expressed an interest in this as well. If you think this is a mistake, let me know. Other questions I had no direct answers for were: - Do I include the Angels of Death Soundtrack? (In my Warhammer music video they go well together.) Or maybe some actual Darktide gameplay? - Would most people enjoy an added 30min loop of Children of the Omnissiah or Noosphere? Or perhaps other personal or fan favorites? From an older Cyberpunk mix I realized that including too many dialogue in between songs makes it less repeat friendly and though it’s impossible to refrain from inserting personal touches, hopefully the choices I made with this mix are considered more subtle. Ultimately, the highest standard I can try to aspire to is the thought of Jesper Kyd himself listening to this late at night and saying: On a scale from 1 to 10, I’ll give this a 2 for not butchering it entirely. I hope you like it. Hail the Omnissiah! ___________ On a final note: I have no doubt that the person responsible for the loading screen quotes in Darktide has read the Poetry of War (Hagakure). Quotes like: Do not shy the hopeless fight - Honour thy weapon - Your honour is your life - The wage of negligence is utter destruction - Carry your scars with honour - Make thy death a worthy one, etc. Could’ve very well came from Hagakure. Albeit perhaps a little less on the nose and with more context. Then again, Hagakure is not known for being subtle and it’s Philosophy in some ways go hand in hand with the universe of Warhammer. A few saying from Hagakure that I implemented were: - In just refusing to retreat, one gains the strength of two men. This is interesting. Something that is not done at that time and at that place will remain unfinished for a lifetime. - What is the true meaning of the Way of the Warrior? the person who would be able to answer promptly is rare. This is because it has not been established in one’s mind beforehand. From this, one’s unmindfulness of the Way can be known. Negligence is an extreme thing. - Pray to realize the true way, and your dreams will always come true. Heaven and earth are penetrated and bound together by such sentiment. - Throughout your life advance daily, becoming more skillful than yesterday, more skillful than today. This is never-ending. - If one has no earnest daily intention, does not consider what it is to be a warrior even in his dreams, and lives through the day idly, he can be said to be worthy of punishment. - If you vigilantly examine your own heart, it will become clear, how many bad thoughts are invoked in your mind - each day. You should never be contented with yourself.
