Though “Spider“ John Koerner originally moved to Minnesota to study engineering, he is now known in the state and around the world for his incredible interpretations of music ranging in styles from psychedelic R&B to the blues and Americana. His first recordings were collaborations with blues artists Dave Ray and Tony Glover. Since then, he has performed throughout North America and Europe and has become a champion of the traditional American folk song. In this segment, we’ll hear “Spider“ John Koerner play “Phoebe“ and “Delia’s Gone“ and hear why the artist loves to play traditional American songs.
