OUTSIDE - Magic Sacrifice 1986 #80sheavymetal #classicheavymetal #oldschoolheavymetal #heavymetal #heavy_metal #80s

🔘OUTSIDE released two albums in the 80s but then disbanded. In the meantime, the band has reunited and the two works are being remastered and re-released via Karthago Records as part of the Heavy Metal Classics series. This is about the debut “Magic Sacrifice“, originally released in 1986. Stylistically, OUTSIDE touches on both old-school hard rock and heavy metal. The guitars often remind me of ACCEPT in the early days, or THIN LIZZY also come to mind once or twice. The occasional rocking aspect has something of KROKUS in it, and with a little more driving dynamics sometimes of TWISTED SISTER. However, OUTSIDE can hardly be reduced to specific influences, but rather acts in a varied manner and also develops their own trademarks. Variations determine songwriting. From slow mid-tempo to pieces with an emotional touch to groovy tracks, everything is there. A very solid to good level of composition is maintained in all areas. Personally, I like straight, edgy pieces like “Let It Go” or “Heavy Metal” best, but the individual songs hardly compare in terms of quality. And the musicians also do a good job in terms of craftsmanship. As should be the case with many other releases in the Heavy Metal Classics series , NWOBHM fans should also give “Magic Sacrifice” a listen.
