Icing Artist Beware (1964)

London. In the bakery on the fifth floor of department store Bourne and Hollingsworth we see two girls being handed a cake box; they turn to look at a small painting of The Laughing Cavalier, made from icing sugar mixed with food colouring. One of the girls runs her finger over the painting and licks it. In the bakery kitchen we see various shots of icing artist Leslie Winter in chef’s uniform, working on a portrait in icing sugar of Queen Elizabeth I. An assistant helps to mix the coloured icing. It looks like highly detailed work. Cuts exist - see separate record. FILM ID: A VIDEO FROM BRITISH PATHÉ. EXPLORE OUR ONLINE CHANNEL, BRITISH PATHÉ TV.
