Motorcycle Race - from Durban to Johannesburg, South Africa - 1920s? Starting line; w/ banner over; spectators crowding round. Bikes start toward camera. Bikes racing away. More shots of the cycles at various points in race. Seems to be out in countryside; w/ tall grass around. Spectators standing on hillside; their cars parked below alongside road. Tracking shot from car going past spectators. Group of white spectators pan MS on black African spectators; wearing European style clothing. (Of course there is segregation of the races). Motorcycle approaching on road; passing; pan right quickly to shot looking opposite direction as cycle heads away. Finish linesman stands waving his arms as the lead cycle comes in. Another white audience shot. Pan over audience. Winner on shoulders of some other guys. Finally; the champion stands in group of people; speaking into old-fashioned radio microphone.
