’Kill The Bill’ protesters clash with police outside Westminster

PROTESTERS violently clashed with police as demonstrations became heated outside Westminster last night as the House of lords debated controversial legislation. Police were forced to get physical to disperse huge crowds blocking main roads and footpaths outside the Houses of Parliament. The Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Bill will see new powers given to the police and the Home Secretary to deal with protests that are deemed to have caused ’serious unease, alarm or distress’.
