We Visited The Long Neck Karen Tribe NORTHERN THAILAND | NOT WHAT WE EXPECTED

Welcome to the Long Neck Karen Tribe here in Northern Thailand. In today’s video, we set off on our fourth day on the Mae Hong Son Loop in search of the beautiful tribe that makes up the Long Neck Karens. We wanted to find the most ethical place to visit so we did a little research and found that this place offers classes for jewelry making and cooking but due to the pandemic, the Long Neck Karens of the Huay Pu Keng village were not running any of these classes. The Huay Pu Keng Village is truly the most authentic one of the bunch as it’s remote and more difficult to get to for tourists. I’d recommend people avoid the Long Neck Karen Villages in Chaing Mai and Chaing Rai as it can feel more like a human zoo than an authentic experience where you give back to the community. Again remember to be respectful, not intrusive, and ask for photos and videos of the Long Neck Karens. Plus REMEMBER TO BUY SOMETHING to support the Long Neck Karens.
