Thirty Five Summers - ’I Didn’t Try [Club]’ (1991)
From the early ’90s Merseyside scene, indie band Thirty Five Summers made their debut on vinyl with 1990’s ’Come Together’ (The Beatles) single. Off the back of this, they secured a record deal with RCA which resulted in two further single releases in 1991. ’I Didn’t Try’ was the first, remixed here by fellow Liverpudlians The Sound Foundation, who also did a mix of the follow-up, ’Really Down’. When the band split, a completed album was shelved, but it got a belated release in 2003 as ’Sketch’, in Japan only.
