Moscow 2004, Mikhail Ryabko shows details of correct striking and putting up your opponent

Here we see another video-clip from Mikhail during our annual visit to Moscow again from 2004. During the training week the main theme was striking and how to achieve a maximum precision in striking. In contrast to other martial arts, in Systema every punch is delivered with maximum precision, so that you always know exactly what effect you want to achieve. This requires, first of all, a high degree of trial and error on all parts of the body during training to understand how impacts from different directions affect the body. So, one could say that while in other martial arts a kind of “shotgun tactic“ is often used with a large number of punches fired in the hope that one of them represents a vital hit, in Systema the “sniper tactic“ is preferred, one shot, one hit, anytime and always. This requires a profound knowledge of the effect of one’s own blows on the body, as well as the correct execution of the blows themselves. Needless to say, it takes a huge amount of time in your training to acquire these skills.
