A video against dissection that shows investigations done at Carolina Biological and Ward’s Natural Science. Discusses alternatives and arguments against dissection.
The documentary will present the infamous experimental facility of the Texas Tech University (Texas Tech University). Its beginnings date back to 1976, when John Orem, a professor without a medical background, received a subsidy of more than a million for experimenting on cats, and from the beginning he was under constant criticism from conservationists. The film, produced by PETA, uses footage shot by activists from the Animal Liberation Front (ALF), which brings shocking testimonies of scientifically invalid experiments in which cats were locked in freezer boxes or in small drums filled with water, where they had to spend twelve hours in complete darkness to swim if they didn’t want to drown. Immediately afterwards, they were forced to run for three hours. Then they fixed their heads with metal handles and drilled holes in them, leaving them unable to move for eight hours. They then inserted electrodes through holes in their skulls and drilled holes in their jaws, where the electrodes were also inserted. In this way, they wanted to unlearn sleep. If the cats screamed, the machine, which responded to the sound, put an ammonia solution in their mouths. Orema himself admits that the results of his research cannot be immediately used for the good of humanity, but he claims that experiments are necessary...

The key footage in this documentary is from undercover investigations of activists who infiltrated the infamous Texas Tech University, but this footage is supplemented by many other, supplementary ones. It is not just a recording from the laboratory, but an informative (albeit short) documentary film. If it weren’t for the secret recordings, the world would never have known about these insanities. John Orem himself, a professor without a medical background - the head of this research, said that the results of his research cannot be immediately used for the good of humanity. The recorded images are indisputable incriminating evidence and full-fledged arguments for change. (02/05/2014)
