Various shots as workers come out of the farmhouse, they include farmer William Lane, his daughter Kathleen, his wife, and his daughter Elizabeth. L/S of wheat fields. A tractor drawn threshing machine cuts the wheat. C/U various angle shots of the thresher at work pushing the wheat into the cutting blade and tying it into bundles before laying it on the ground. Various shots as some of the wheat is cut by hand because of the weather. The little girl walks over with basket of food and drink. The workers stop to wipe their faces and drink from a bottle. Various shots as everyone carries the wheatsheafs to a pile. M/S of them falling off conveyor belt onto big pile, the workers pitchfork them onto cart.
