The Waiting Room - Genesis

From Genesis’ “The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway“ (1974). My version of this experimental track from Genesis’ concept album. This is a humble and very free approximation on the original piece. There is so much going on on sound experimentation in the original version that makes very difficult to portray with just one guitar. I hope you take this post for what it is, just a playful divertimento inspired by the always inspirational music of early Genesis. I recorded three takes of the Room and couldn’t make up my mind since none of them satisfied me totally. That’s why I had to edit this take at some point. The tuning is drop D with capo at 5th fret to match the original key at the end section.
