Protesters scale Sheffield town hall to replace Israeli flag with Palestinian flag

Two protesters scaled the 60 metre-tall Sheffield town hall on Tuesday to replace the Israeli flag with a Palestinian flag during a pro-Palestine protest. A Sheffield city council spokesperson said the Israeli flag had been displayed to show solidarity. He also disputed claims that the flag was destroyed after it was thrown off the building, saying it was handed back to local authorities. The Palestinian flag was replaced after the stunt with a union flag, which Sheffield city council said was already planned before the incident occurred. Police are looking for help to identify the men who scaled the buildings.
