Funk Rock Bass Grooves with Seamoon FX Octatron, Grind & Funk Machine

Funky good times with a new Cortex bass and 3 Seamoon FX pedals! I’m using the Octatron octaver the entire take, adding the Grind Machine overdrive and the Funk Machine envelope filter throughout. I’m stepping the pedals real-time and didn’t use any digital post processing, this is a live take. Beside the Seamoon pedals I used a Darkglass Hyper Luminal compressor and a Rodenberg 707B clean booster. This Cortex bass has an oxidised metal finish on the body and headstock made by Cédric Vichard. It’s a satinated lacquer with copper, the colours come from various degrees of oxidation, how cool is that! It has an alder body, maple neck and a flamed maple fingerboard. It’s loaded with Aguilar DCB pups with a 3-band Glockenklang preamp. I used Ernie Ball Super Slinky strings, Monster Bass Cables and recorded with my Eich T-1000 amp’s DI into a Focusrite Scarlett. I made the drum track with Addictive Drums in Cubase and recorded this take on it, mastering was done with Ozone. Yes indeed that’s my face, it’s been 11 years and 92 videos ago on YouTube! Nothing new to those who follow me on my other socials, but here I kept it out for over a decade, focusing on the close angled one-take rollercoaster videos. The dreads are gone, loved having them but for me it was time for a new chapter, missing the string muting options though :) I’ll be doing both up close and full shot videos moving forwards. It’s a lot of fun to do the angled close-ups and the result is rewarding, but sometimes I just wanna rock out without thinking about the perfect shot and where the lens is. I’ll keep doing single takes, editing would take away the challenge and magic, I love putting in the work and keep grinding until I’m ready for that final take! I’ll be sharing multiple angle footage from this shoot on my other social media pages, showing the pedal footwork as well. Thanks for watching!
