Everything is working as before.
Euronews filmed a report about the new owners of the former IKEA factories in Russia.
In 2023, IKEA had 17 stores and 3 factories in Russia. Over 25 years, IKEA weathered several crises, including the COVID-19 pandemic. The company did everything possible to not lose the promising Russian market.
Not only did IKEA leave the Russian market, but many other companies did as well. However, the Russians are trying not to idle. They are maintaining their production lines on their own.
The longing of Russians for Scandinavian style was quickly replaced by the new factory owners. They have adapted to the new realities. Even the product names are now in Komi, the language of one of the peoples of Russia.
