Holes in Russian Border: How Russian Volunteers Entered Belgorod Region With No Resistance

The Russian Duma has decided to reconstitute the border troops in a pre-2003 format. The decision was probably taken against the backdrop of recent events in the Belgorod region. The present border service is clearly not up to the task. The Ukrainian defence forces are making significant progress, successfully advancing on two fronts and consolidating their positions. Meanwhile, the Russians failed to impede the progress not only of the Ukrainian troops but also of the volunteers that entered the Belgorod region with minimal opposition. Minefields, the formidable Prigozhin lines, and even dragon’s teeth proved inadequate. Putin himself, who only acknowledged the situation in the border region a week ago, labelling the rebel raids as “a problem.“ This revelation raises questions about the effectiveness of the security apparatus and highlights the potential blow to Putin’s carefully crafted image. _____________________________________ Subscribe to UATV English: Facebook: Twitter: Telegram: Website : #UATV #UATV_English #UkraineNews #belgorod #russia #russianwar #ukraine #counteroffensive
