IBP News: Russian democracy - Cancelled Cannibal Corpse show Saint Petersburg

I was in Saint Petersburg where was also going to play an American death metal band Cannibal Corpse. As I was walking to the venue, I could hear already a block away people screaming “Cannibal! Cannibal! Cannibal!” . Yet I didn’t know what kind of a cannibal it was. Outside of the club was crowded and people were furious - the gig had been cancelled by the authorities and in front of the club was several police vehicles. Some minutes later became a minibus - full of police. They stayed waiting. After a while a full size bus – again full of police. Few minutes later a large police truck – and you can guess – full of police. We all knew what was going to happen, but we waited. People were shouting at the police and some threw glass bottles at them. The police were putting on their riot equipment that made them look like astronauts. More police cars drove down the street and people were mad. Shouting and showing their middle fingers. Before the police decided to make a ring in front of the club –
