Weber’s “Grand Duo Concertant “ -- Harold Wright, clarinet -- OU Clarinet Symposium (1990)

This video features the incomparable clarinetist, Harold Wright, in a live performance of Carl Maria von Weber’s masterpiece, “Grand Duo Concertant“ for the OU Clarinet Symposium, on June 4th, 1990, at the University of Oklahoma. Wright is accompanied on piano by Shalah Smothers. ***Ms. Smothers was my former accompanist, as well as my daughter’s former piano teacher. The audio is a personal cassette master-recording I made, sitting in the front pew of the 1st Christian Church in Norman, Oklahoma -- a wonderful acoustical venue, only a couple of blocks from the OU campus. Wright also performed at the 1993 OU Clarinet Symposium, which was only a few weeks before Mr. Wright’s untimely death from a heart attack.
