1950 LP on a 1962 Turntable

“Your Dance Date with Harry James“ by Harry James and his Orchestra, released on Columbia Records in 1950, just two years after they became the first to make 33 1/3 long playing records commercially available. Played on an Empire 398 turntable with a Shure M97xe cartridge into a Graham Slee Gram Amp 2 phono stage. interface is an RME Fireface UFX. Converted at 24/48. Very slight de-crackle applied with Acon Digital De-Click II. No other processing applied. This record and turntable have personal significance for me. The front of the record sleeve says “To Ruth from Bill, Christmas 1952“. This record was given as a gift from my grandfather to my grandma before they were married. The A-side has a sticker on it with my Grandma’s maiden name, indicating it was from her collection. She gave me this record a few years ago and I’ve been looking forward to preserving it in this way - she always kept her records in immaculate shape, even when she was 22. I think the fidelity
