Bird Virtuosos (1933)

Man gives a show with some performing birds. He has a little step ladder which a bird (a canary?) walks up and down. A parrot then climbs up a little stand using his feet and beak, across a platform at the top then down again. The birds then jump through little hoops which are set up on the table. A budgerigar spins on some miniature parallel bars! A mini seesaw is next. Birds sit on either end and another bird jumps from one side to the other to make the seesaw move up and down. The entertainer then puts all the birds on the table and they walk towards a little model house. The man uses a little stick to persuade them all to go into the house. He shuts them in, the last one flies into the top window and he shuts that too. Note: flash-frame intertitles in French. This story with English subtitles to be found on EP211 with same title. This was used in an Eve’s Film Review issue of 1931 but it is possible that this film was shot earlier than that. Early safety print only - see EP211. FILM
