The Philippines are shaking! Two strong earthquakes shake the island of Mindanao!

On March 7, the Philippine island of Mindanao was rocked by two strong earthquakes. The epicenters were in the mountainous province of Davao de Oro. The first earthquake of magnitude 6.0 occurred near the municipality of Maragusan. Fortunately, there were no casualties or significant damage. A second earthquake of magnitude 5.6 occurred three hours later in the neighboring municipality of New Bataan. Several houses were reportedly destroyed in the village of Andap. A shopping center in the city of Tagum, in the neighboring province of Davao del Norte, was also damaged. About 100 people were hit by glass and debris as they ran out of the building.
