ECR stands for “El Camino Real“, which is also the road where “° N, ° W (Seabound)“ takes place. “Paradise Valley“ and much of my upcoming work deals with homesickness and memories of home. More specific to this, though, “ECR“ is also a (SamTrans) bus route in California that goes up and down El Camino Real. It’s a route I’ve taken a lot. I think about how initially I started using public transportation as way to get home faster, because I would have to wait at school until 7pm every day if I didn’t take the ECR. But as time went on, taking the bus home — which lasted over 2 hours, typically — I came to appreciate and love it.
