They’ve Got Rhythm, But Keep It Dark (1932)

Introductory intertitle reads: ““Meet the boys and girls of Columbus Hill Community Centre, New York, who claim to be the most rhythmic bunch in America.“ A group of young black schoolchildren sit together in a classroom, some have musical instruments. They look around 4 or 5 years old. A young boy walks into the room and stands on a chair to conduct the “orchestra.“ The children clap and play their instruments. Nice C/Us of some of the children. They all look very happy - lots of lovely smiling faces. The children are probably African American children. A young boy sings a short song, looking very serious. Note: the tune is ’If I Could Be With You’ - SL. Documentation currently missing for this issue of Pathe Sound Pictorial. FILM ID: A VIDEO FROM BRITISH PATHÉ.
