Making medieval stonebow - pellet crossbow

Making medieval stonebow - crossbow shooting pellets. Most of the work was done with hand tools. The stock is birch, the crossbow prod is hazel (note the natural curve in the branch that was used). The trigger mechanism is just standard rolling nut with long trigger. These crossbows were used for hundreds of years, but becouse they lack the power of conventional bolt crossbows they were never as wide spread. Their advantage is, that you can use almost any stones as ammunition, so loosing bolts is not a problem anymore. To make it more accurate and powerful you can use clay or steel balls instead of stone. Great for playing around or hunting small prey. Have fun if you decide to make one.
