As per the data from China’s National Bureau of Statistics, last year’s poverty threshold in China stood at an annual net income of 3,218 yuan, translating to a daily income of about USD. This year, the threshold for escaping poverty has been set at an annual income of 4,000 yuan, or approximately or USD a day.
