He is often remembered as a “peacemaker“who accepted treaties with the U.S. government, only as a means, to try to protect his People. Called Motavato or Moketaveto, by his friends and family., he was born, in 1803. By 1832, he had roamed south and joined with Southern Cheyenne Tribes.
