Restoring a 1958 Fender Stratocaster with NOS 1950s Lacquer!
We recently had the pleasure of spending an afternoon with Joe Riggio, master guitar builder and refinisher, with our visit centered around a special 1958 Stratocaster that’s totally original except for the finish on the body. With Joe, the guitar was in good hands!
In this video we’ll go over the finer points of the guitar, Joe’s process for prep, spraying, and aging a finish, as well as what it’s like working with real-deal NOS 1950s lacquer! Big thanks to Joe for letting us bug him, and for all of the restoration work he’s done for us over the years. He’s one of PNW’s best.
