Don’t Let Our Love Start Slippin’ Away - Chris Eger’s One Take Weekly @ Plum Tree Recording Studio

Episode 36: Vince Gill’s fifth studio album, I Still Believe In You, was released in September of 1992, with the title track becoming his first #1 hit. Following suit, the next single, “Don’t Let Our Love Start Slippin’ Away“ also reached the top spot. Vince’s immense talent is showcased in not only his singing and guitar playing, but songwriting as well. This track is a catchy, Ronnie Milsap-esque number, reminiscent of many 1970’s Country hits which contained Pop/R&B flavors. Surely, this won’t be the last OTW featuring a Vince Gill tune! The three-part harmony chorus was kept prominent above two rhythm guitars, hard panned to opposite sides. Rhodes electric piano and Hammond organ add subtle texture while the bass locks in with the kick drum patterns. We chose a resonant-on kick sound, and Richard’s newest Pro Tools plugin, “Fresh Air“, adds a crisp top end to a number of the tracks. Please check out our brand new, premium OTW content
