Full titles read: “World’s Finest Airport - Lady M. Hoare, wife of the Minister for Air, opens London’s magnificent new Aerodrome.“ Croydon, London. High angle L/S of a crowd of people gathered around the entrance of the new building at Croydon / London Airport. A man standing in front of the doorway with some others is making a speech; Lady Hoare stands beside him. M/S of Lady Hoare pulling a cord so a curtain falls, revealing a plaque on the side of the doorway; she then opens the door and she and the group go inside. L/S of the group walking around the terrace that runs around the top of the control tower; several more people are seen climbing up the stair to it. Aerial shot of the airport and a small group of houses nearby. The group wander about the airport grounds and look at planes stationed there. Note: Minister for Air was Sir Samuel Hoare.
