Design & Architecture: Whitechapel Elizabeth line station
Whitechapel station has been designed to fit seamlessly into the surrounding urban environment. The new station concourse is built on a bridge over the existing Hammersmith & City and District lines and London Overground. From this new concourse escalators and a lift connects passengers with the Elizabeth line 30 metres below. The new station also features a new pedestrian link between Whitechapel Road and an additional entrance on Durward Street improving access for local communities.
Join Peter Jenkins, Architect Director & Head of Transport at BDP & Sam Wylie, Lead Architect Whitechapel station at Crossrail to learn about how the station has been designed to provide easier passenger journeys and connect communities.
