Human rights lawyer on UN’s 1-year deadline for Israeli occupation
Human rights lawyer Ousman Noor reacts to a vote in the UN General Assembly for Israel to end its occupation of Palestine within a year. 124 states voted in favour of the proposal, an overwhelming majority, which included demands for Israel and Israeli settlers to leave Gaza, for Israel to pay reparations to Palestinians and the right of return for anyone displaced by the occupation.
Noor is the co-founder of the Civilian Agenda, which participates in UN debates on issues of war and human rights.
