You can also join the Spyro Speedrunning Discord for help! The “Exploration Build” will be released in about 2 hours - I’ll update the description with it once it’s done. It lowers egg requirements for portals and makes end of level eggs easier to obtain. It’s our recommendation that less experienced players use that build so they can experience the full game more easily. After almost 6 months of development, HWD405 and I are releasing our Spyro 3 ROMhack this Saturday - Spyro 3.5: Return to the Forgotten Realms. “23 years ago, a heroic dragon saved the Forgotten Realms from the evil Sorceress... But, evil never truly dies. The Sorceress... she was no exception. She’s back! Stronger. Cleverer. More creative. This time it might not be as easy to find the eggs. Are you up for the challenge?“ This project was... enormous. What originally began as us discussing a sequel to HWD’s randomizer with a few permanent egg placements became a full-game ROMhack that truly pushed the limits of our imaginations. And it was all a secret until right now! Some of the features include: - Over 135 of the eggs in the game moved or functionally changed - New Atlas clues pertaining to our revised egg locations - Full texture hacks of around 1/3 of the levels in the game - Significant lighting/skybox changes in most other levels - Over 100 textboxes changed - Most textboxes accompanied by vocals, either voice acted (by Shemp and Pepper) or AI generated - Multiple original musical tracks courtesy of Composer and HWD along with a couple of other alternate tracks inserted - Over 100 gem and gem containers moved to suggest egg placement - Unique level functionality concepts - Revitalized Moneybags purposes - 100s of other revisions including new egg names, new level names, moby movement and linking, flop plane lowering, flight cap raising, etc. This is a ROMhack specifically tailored to experienced Spyro players. As you’ll hear from Bianca in Sunrise Spring, the egg locations are... unimaginable. “More difficult! More perilous! More secret!“ We wanted to give you the feeling you had when you were searching for eggs for the first time as well as a challenge that considers the time you’ve spent playing Spyro in your adult life. This ROMhack will be hard! - which is why we’ll also have an “Exploration Build“ that makes end of level characters easier to find and lowers egg requirements so anybody can download the game and enjoy all areas of the game at their leisure.
