Households across the UK on Tuesday watched Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and Labour leader Keir Starmer clash on live television for their first debate ahead of Britain’s elections.
Conservative leader Rishi Sunak hoped to boost his party’s dismal outlook while Labour’s Keir Starmer aimed to cement his status as a favourite for the role of Prime Minister.
Both acknowledged the country’s many problems, from fraying public services to a broken immigration system.
While some voters praised Sunak’s economic policy and his Rwanda plan to curb immigration, some said it was time for a change.
