Baby Rooting Reflex / Reaction

Baby 2½ weeks old. When the cheek is brushed or stroked, a newborn infant turns the head in the direction where the cheek near the corner of the mouth is brushed . This reaction serves to help a newborn find food (imaging that babys did not have this reflex, it would be rather difficult to feed them). The reflex disappears at about the sixth week of life.
