Mad Hats (1954)

Mad Hats. Holborn, London. M/S Two women (designer - Florence Russell and showgirl Violet Pretty) sitting on settee, one is making alteration to a telephone hat, she hands it to the other to try on, she holds a mirror up for the other to see the result. C/U Woman looking at herself in mirror. adjusting hat, she removes top section of the hat which resembles a telephone receiver and looks at it. C/U She removes a powder puff from the mouthpiece of the receiver and uses it. M/S Using the puff. She replaces it in the mouthpiece, and places the receiver back on the hat. M/S She takes off the hat and woman hands her another one (resembling flying saucer). She places the hat on her head. C/U Looking at herself in mirror. C/U Top section of hat, she lifts it off. C/U Places the hat on the settee, opens the lid and reveals work basket, lid is closed and lipstick is taken from centre of top of hat. M/S. Woman places lipstick back in hat, puts it aside, she tries on another one (flowery kind). C/U Looking at her
