This Week in Volcano News; A Large Hole Appears in the Askja Volcano
In Iceland, a large hole appeared in the Ice of the Askja volcano’s youngest caldera three months early, seemingly coinciding with the center of its ongoing magmatic intrusion. Also, in Indonesia the Tangkuban Parahu volcano was the site of an observed orange glow on February 9th, yet it is not considered to be erupting and its alert level was not raised. This video will discuss these two stories & list the 46 volcanoes which are actively erupting across the planet.
