Here’s a quick blind test I did to compare the original 5150 lead channel and the AMT P1 into the 5150’s poweramp. You’ll hear two riffs, each played twice. I’d be thankful for your guesses - or, perhaps, you’ll easily distinguish who is who:)
So please, leave your versions in comments in any way comfortable for you, for example:
Riff1 sound A is ...
Riff1 sound B is ...
Riff2 sound A is ...
Riff2 sound B is ...
Thanks in advance!
- Max Morton
P.S.: There is no processing on the tracks except for the hipass filter at around 50 hz. The mics’ positions (I used a combination of sm57 and AKG C414), loudness, resonance and presence settings at the poweramp are the same. However, the knobs at the AMT P1 are at a slightly different position, but who cares about knobs:)
