10 Years of PC DOS Gaming Part 1: 1988 (The CGA/EGA/PC Speaker Era)

Here it is. The first episode of the DOS-centric gaming history series similar to my previous series that tackled the 10 crucial years of Amiga gaming. The first couple of years of MS DOS gaming, heavily relied on EGA graphics and PC Speaker sound. And while the clever use of colors could hide the first, awfully “farty“ beeps and bops coming out of the PC Speaker are impossible to ignore. If you like this series, perhaps you could enjoy a similar one I’ve made for Amiga and for C64? 10 Years of Amiga Gaming: 10 Years of C64 Gaming: But have no fear, with each passing year there will be more and more of VGA graphics-based games and more that use Adlib, and with time even Sound Blaster sound cards.
