Richard Red Skelton was born on July 18, 1913 in Indiana. The youngest of four children, and the only lucky one with fiery red hair. Nicknamed for that trait, Young Red never got to meet his father who died two months before Red was born, this made Life especially challenging for the family, without the circus performer father.
