Shangó

Weekly music and dance (noon to 3pm on Sundays) at Callejón de Hammel in Habana, Cuba. Callejón de Hammel is also a 2-block alleyway that has been transformed by Cuban painter/artist Salvador González into a neighborhood/community arts space with mural-size depictions of Afro-Cuban deities. There are also sculptures made from scrap and old bike parts, as well as a Nganga, a sacred place for the celebration of Palo Monte rituals centered on a giant cauldron.
