Zoom Out of the Black Hole M87*

Zoom out the black hole in the galaxy Messier 87, while journeying through the electromagnetic spectrum of light. With each step, we show data that spans a tremendous scale in size and in wavelengths of light. This multiwavelength video is the culmination of immense international collaboration, requiring 19 different facilities on the Earth and in space to capture all the light. The Event Horizon Telescope (EHT) is an international collaboration that captured the first image of a black hole by creating a virtual Earth-sized telescope.
