Father on trial for making son run himself to death on treadmill

A New Jersey father is on trial for murder for allegedly making his 6-year-old son run himself to death on a treadmill. Corey Micciolo was subjected to a brutal workout session by his father, Christopher Gregor, who thought his young son was ‘too fat.’ In a horrifying video, Gregor can be seen putting Corey on a treadmill, and increasing the speed to the point he’s barely keeping up at a full sprint. Corey flew off. Gregor simply picked him up and put him back on, holding him up. Corey fell again. And again. At one point he fell directly on his chest. And again. And again. Legs shaking, and with his father finally lowering the speed, he got on again, and was forced to keep running. Two weeks later, Corey would be dead. Corey awoke from a nap, slurring his words and feeling sick. He was taken to hospital, but died, with an autopsy revealing blunt-force trauma to the chest, and lacerations on his heart and liver, had caused his death. Forensic experts found other signs consistent with a history of chronic abuse. Gregor, who is facing up to life in prison if convicted, has denied the abuse, and claims that his son died of pneumonia.
