David Byron & Elton John ( Reg Dwight ) Love Grows MFP 1383 Hit’s 70 Album
This is one of the cover version records that David Byron and Reg Dwight ( later to become Elton John ) recorded when they were still strugging musicians as part of The Alan Caddy Singers who was responsible for a lot of the cover records on The Avenue lable in the late 60’s and early 70’s. David Byron later went on to have major success with Uriah Heep and in his own right. Elton was still called Reg Dwight at this time and the strange thing was he has already recorded a few a singles and and a couple of Albums on DJM under his then recording name of Elton John.
On this track David took lead vocal and Elton sang on backing vocals as he did quite a few times for David Byron on these cover records of the late 60’s and early 70’s
These old recordings are a peice of now rare and collectable music history.
